Hi there!
by breakingfree ini have been coming to this site to read news and your stories for about a year now, but have never posted due to my mortal fear of somehow being found out... i have family in as most of you do, who are all very sincerely convinced that they are on the path of light.. i have never been happy with the beliefs, mainly the doublespeak on the status of women, the hypocrisy, the dramatisation of the smallest of matters, and the general guilt trip that was my life until i stumbled across some hard evidence that my suspicions about 'gods channel' were well founded.
unfortunately i am now addicted to turning over every piece of information i can find, there seems to be no end to the amount of $#*& below the surface.
i will probably remain in this state for awhile, hungrily devouring all the information that makes me feel validated for my stand against much of the mindless rubbish that has gone around me during my life as a jw.

Oh Aleman, you judge us and yet you go against the Governing Body by visiting and posting on this site. You need to make a choice, are you going to obey your god or not?
Do you think that the nasty comments you make will bring people back into your religion. It's exactly that attidude that sent us running from the WBTS. Only God can judge. Your are not my God!

How do the JW's justify selling old Kindom Halls to Christendom?
by oppgirl63 inin a town near where i live the kh was sold and i noticed a couple of weeks ago a sign was put up...church of god in christ.
i know it's all about money....but it just seems hypocritical to me.
i mentioned it to my rommie...she didn't even bat an eye, like it was no big deal..

NOW-buying a synagogue or church and making it into a Kingdom Hall. That should be
considered (by their own placing of fears into members) moving into a "lurking place of
demons." That's where the dollars override the fear factor.In A town called Sea Point in Cape town South Africa there is a KH that use to be a synagogue. My FL gave a talk there about 10 years ago and hubby and I went with. At the time I thought it was strange, my FL said that they had no choice cause ther is no land available in Sea Point to built a KH.

For those of you who don't go to meetings anymore...
by exwitless inwhen you attended your last meeting ever as a dub, did you know it was your last?
did something happen which made it clear in your mind you were 'never going back' (not to be confused with nvrgnbk)?.
the last meeting we went to was the memorial in 2006. we only went because we knew we were already pegged for the elders' unwanted attention, so we had to go to keep them off our backs a little longer.

The last memorial we attended I over heard one of the loving elder's wives saying "Oh, look at all the submarines here tonight. They pop up once a year for the memorial and think they going to make it into paradise. Why do they bother." So I thought yeah, why do I bother? This is a load of BS anyway. My hubby and I decided that we were no longer going to be submarines

What a Class A cow. They are the ones that put tons of effort into hunting out everyone who has ever set foot in a KH and inviting them to the memorial in the first place. Why do THEY bother? To make them feel smug and saved?
She did me favour. It was the first time I really understood that there was NO love among them and that I didn't have to feel guilty for not wanting to be there.
I wish more of them would be so blatant about their feelings. Maybe more would leave sooner rather than later.

we invited our neighbours and business associates and their families for and open house on 12 and 13 october, to tour our modern printery in robert broom drive east, mogale city (krugersdorp).. we had a heart warming response and would now like to thank the over 1300 people that toured the premises over these two days.. for any that could not come to the open house, free guided tours will still be available on weekdays between 9am and noon and again from 1 pm to 3 pm, in all the major languages of the country.. the length of the tour can be adjusted to fit the indidual's circumstances but normally takes two hours.. none of the visitors will be asked to observe or participate in any religious activities.

Why was I so blind?
by James Free innow that i can see right through the crap that is the jw religion, i sometimes ask myself - how come you blindly believed all that rubbish for 30 years??!!
i am so annoyed with myself for that - i have a degree, yet i was totally duped for such a large part of my life.
and now that i can see how so full of holes it all is, i kick myself for not seeing it before.

I hope that you did not take offence to my comment. I'm truely sorry if you did. Just to say that most religions are just for social and entertainment purposes is a very limited view on things. I'm not going to get into a Christian believers vs non believers debate. It's been done to death on this forum and I will not take the bait. I was just making the point that if your experience of religion is limited to JW, how can you comment on how other religions are run. I'm sure that people that study paganism or wicca learn and study. I'm sure that to become a Muslim you have to learn what's in the Koran. To convert to judaism you have to learn and study. I mentioned my experience because that's what it is, my experience. I have learnt a lot with the church that I'm attending. I was speaking of my personal experience. I have the right to believe in the bible. I'm not asking anyone else to. I just think that to make a broad comment on most religions when you have not been in most religions is ignorant.
Sorry undecided, I'm not going to get into a debate with you. You have just as much right not to believe as I do to believe.
